Connecticut Green Burial Grounds (CGBG) is a Connecticut-based organization committed to establishing, promoting, and operating green burial cemeteries. CGBG’s mission is to combine eco-cemeteries and land conservation in an economically viable way that contributes to ecological restoration and conservation.

We are devoted to establishing the first full green burial cemetery in Connecticut, promoting sustainable and eco-friendly deathcare options, and helping to eliminate the culture of silence surrounding death related topics.

Connecticut Green Burial Grounds is a 501(c)(3) Foundation. The Connecticut Green Burial Ground Foundation is dedicated to education, land acquisition and furthering the mission of CGBG. Connecticut Green Burial Grounds is in the process of becoming a 501(c)(13) non-profit Connecticut Cemetery Association, which will permit it to operate a cemetery under Connecticut Law.

I would request that my body, in death, be buried and not cremated so that the energy content contained within it gets returned to the earth, so that flora and fauna can dine upon it, just as I have dined upon flora and fauna during my lifetime.
